Lookbook.nu

I've only just discovered it and I have to admit it's pretty cool. I gather it's a site where anyone from anywhere in the world can join and post their 'looks'. Once uploaded others are welcome to 'hype' your look, or become a fan of yours, and come on... everyone wants a fan! So far I've only found one girl who's look I really like, a Swedish blogger I believe. Anyway check out the pictures and visit the site, some looks are rather inspiring!

Creative minds

Does anybody else think this is one of the most intriguing magazine covers ever? Ok, so I love it because it's Olivia, but it's also very ballsy for a fashion magazine. The unusual scene of beige background tones and a beautiful, almost mossy, flower ensemble behind, really stand out. It isn't just a famous women stood there in amazing clothes, it has depth and speaks volumes in terms of media techniques. I love it, I want to find out what magazine it is.

Olivia's Ring.

I'm so jealous! and not only about her clothes - this ring! I love it. For my 16th I want a ring from my parents, and I don't want something boring. I want something huge and way too over the top to wear everyday, but of course I will. I'm keeping my eye on net-a-porter and a few other designer stockists but I haven't seen anything yet that I'm desperate for. I shall keep you posted, literally.

Blackberry Posting

This is my first ever post from my blackberry! I really want to be able to uploads images straight from my phone to my blog but I don't know how to - hopefully I will find out soon. When I do I shall post endless images of my daily ventures, all fabulously stylish of course!

The Studio @ Theo Georgio.

Heather Shevlane photography, new member of The Studio @ Theo Georgio.

These are a few of the stunning photos that photographer Heather Shevlane took of my friends and I for her portfolio. She is now working for The Studio @ Theo Georgio, Birmingham. Heather is so talented and has a contemporary vision that stands out in the competitive industry. She is a photographer that gets stuck into the shoot to provide the best images possible and she is not afraid to try things out. Heather has bold imagination and I know that in the studio everyone that works with her will feel sure that the images she produces will be amazing.
The studio Heather works for offers wedding photography, model portfolios and personalised photo shoot sessions with the professional photographers. It's new, edgy and it is stepping in the right direction to become a huge success. The opportunity to have your hair professionally styled before the shoots adds something that most studios can't offer and the experience in the fashion and hair industry gives this studio a damn good head start.
Everyone wants to be made up and have beautiful pictures to treasure forever, and this studio will give you the voice to express yourself, with professional advice and free consultations. So go on, have a look at the website and their blog to see the talent I'm talking about. I will keep you posted.

Oh my... ASOS

Ok, so everybody adores ASOS for their extensive fashion ranges, offering designers and highstreet and their own brand all on one amazing website, but has any one paid any attention to their amazing magazine?
I think you sign up to it automatically when you make a purchase, I've been receicing mine now for a few months. One thing i find completely refreshing, is they're always supporting new, up and coming talent from some sort, givin gthem the chance of their first cover shoot. This month it was Sting's daughter Coco Sumner, noticed for her music I blame Coco, I haven't heard any of her stuff yet, but after ASOS love her, i think i might too!
ASOS website has a page for Life, and i previously thought it was for homeware. Silly of me. It's a link to their other side, their blogs, their community and thier ever increasing influence in the industry. It's here where the magazine was first created, released on paper months later. It hold some impresive advertising campaigns, Pepe Jeans, Lacoste, Aldo and so forth. Of course, however, this is because this website supplies it all.
If you've never been on there i advise you to have a look about, it's incredible, there is nothing you cannot find. Visit http://www.asos.com/Women/Magazine/Womens-Magazine-Asos/Cat/pgehtml.aspx?cid=6200 to look at the online magazine now. Enjoy the pictures, all courtesy of Asos.com.

GLASTO GIRLS.

Next year, I am going to Glastonbury, and i cannot wait! I have never been before which is ridiculous, it's less than an hours drive away from my home in Somerset! I'll be camping with my three best friends who, obviously, i adore. They are so excited to see all the acts.

But let's be honest; who actually goes to Glasto for the music? I know I'm not. Sure, i might get slightly excited when I'm being bashed about by a load of hot, sweaty, drunken men, attempting to sing along to the lyrics that i do not have the faintest clue what they are. But personally, I'm going for the whole other side to the world that is festivals. The fashion.

Yes, the fashion. I cannot wait for the time to come, when I'm thinking of what to pack, and I'll take all my festo clothes. You know, the hunter wellies, the hippie headbands, the Barbour jacket; and yes OK maybe the festo smell as well. Ohh; the excitement! I can't wait to see what everyone is wearing.
My friend, Jessica, is a complete music junkie, can't get enough of the stuff. She thinks she's going for the music, i can promise you, subconsciously she just wants to wear the cut offs and skanky tshirt combo. We all know it, no point in lying! Check out her music blog @ http://www.themusicinitiative.blogspot.com/

Mulberry LFW, Spring/Summer '11

I've just finished flicking through a few images of Mulberry's show at LFW, and wow! The whole show was full of bright girly prints as well as a mix of bold block colours. Surprisingly, there were lots of individual pieces as well as dresses in this collection. However, it wasn't just the clothes that made this show so iconic. Mulberry decided to communicate their range in a new way, through the voice of their influences.

The room was decorated with huge pink flowers, cute humorous animal characters and little garden ornaments.

The decor hugely reflected the collection,  practically screaming 'British gardens'. The bold take on a catwalk show just proves how well this brand knows its customers, maybe we don't just want to dress like the iconic 'City girl'? Gardens hold so much beauty through their natural forms, flowers possess some of the most beautiful natural colours. It's inevitable that the clothes would take on this theme as well.

The colours were bright and fresh, the bold prints incorporated garden influences. Lots of reds, pinks, blues and purples were combined with more neutral shades to create one of the most wearable and accessible shows I've seen.

Yet again, this brand has managed to create a collection that appeals to women across the globe. It's only a matter of time until the likes of Olivia Palermo and Alexa Chung are sporting these designs.

Here are a few of my favourite looks from the new collection. Ironically the ones i have chosen are all neutral shades! For more pictures from the catwalk visit the London fashion week website.

My favourite few street styles.

I think this look is cute. The lace tshirt softens up the harsh leathers in the jacket and boots.
The creams and beiges of this neutral look add a summery feel to the professional outfit. I'd wear this myself.
This is hot. The black is sexy and the detailing on the shoes and jacket add interest.
You can tell she's a stylist.
Capes are huge this season, although i recon they'll be a fad trend, I want one for my winter wardrobe. (hint to the boyfriend!)
This outfit is pretty simple, the leather skirt and beige jumper are timeless classics, so don't need over dressing.
The utility jacket was a major trend last season, and i recon it will stay for winter. I'm layering mine up, luckily it's mens so it's massive!
How could i not add in an outfit with leather leggings?
This is one of my favourites. It looks like a leather skirt, peaking out from the knitted jumper. The sock and boot combination adds a sense of creativity to the otherwise safe outfit.
I chose this simply because of the jacket, i'm in love with that shade.
The pieces of this look work really well together, the light shaded skirt brightens up the black leather.
I wouldn't usually like this outfit, and to be honest i can't explain why i do.
The black and white pallet of this look speaks volumes of this girl's style. Simple and classic style at it's best.

Wedmore's hidden gem.

Mulberry Heathcliffe.

I've recently discovered a quaint little vintage store in Wedmore, a small Somerset village. I found some amazing things, but went back three days after and bought a vintage Mulberry Heathecliff breifcase. I LOVE IT. The image isn't of mine, but i'm carrying it in my post of What I'm Wearing. If you're ever passing by, I advice you to stop in, It's called Vintage and Accessories, and the lady said she'd be getting more items in for October, I'll see you there!

If i had to chose 3 pieces...

Ohh Olivia...

First item, a pair of leather leggings. I bought a pair from Topshop, and they are the most comfortable things I've ever had & they look gorgeous. I always wear them with a feminine top, to balance out the masculinity and huge heels. I'll post soon my favourite way to wear them, or maybe several!
Some people think they are trashy and i must admit, when i first wore mine, my mother pulled a face. But as with everything, It's how you wear it.

How gorgeous!

Secondly, the heels. If you're shorter these babies will save your life! Although i prefer chunkier heels these are amazing, they come in a paler beige shade too, and i swear I've seen a navy somewhere.
You can wear these with everything, from leather leggings to white vintage style dresses.

MULBERRY, all the best come from Somerset!

What isnt't ther to love about this bag?  It was designed by Mulberry inspired by Alexa Chung when the brand saw her using their men's Elkington satchel. They mixed up the design from that and their more traditional Bayswater bag to create this favourite, everytime i check it's sold out, but i'm saving for mine already!
